We've finished crocheting the Terran Afghan Square, and now it is time to weave in the ends.
✨️ You can crochet your own square or see other projects in my Terran series, #elkccycc_terran
✨️ You will also love my Maddie series, which uses this same exact square but crochets them together into larger projects, #elkccycc_maddie
✨️ Rather than pick up a whole stitch on my needle, I like to break my strands in half when I enter and exit to help capture my yarn better.
✨️ I always work 3 passes. If you feel secure after 2, then fasten off, but if you feel you need to work a 4th pass, do it. It's whatever you feel most comfortable with, and can vary each time.
❤️ Thread your tapestry needle with the tail from the center. Run the needle clockwise back to where the tail end starts and then push through a few more stitches. Hold the fabric in between your fingers of one hand and with the other, tug on the strand to close up the hole. Rotate the square, and work in the opposite direction through several of the stitches just finished. Use your fingers to manipulate the fabric if it has bunched up. Repeat once more. Fasten off.
❤️ Thread tapestry needle with another tail end, then insert needle into a nearby stitch. Run the needle through several stitches of the same color - I suggest vertically or diagonally so the fabric doesn't bunch up. Pull through and then use your fingers to manipulate the fabric if needed. Repeat working in the opposite direction through several of the stitches just worked, manipulating the fabric as needed. Repeat once more. Fasten off.
❤️ Continue with all ends, then celebrate 🥳
🧶 For this square, I am using Lion Brand Pound of Love that we carry in our yarn shop, YarnCraftsandCoffee.com, and a H8/5mm crochet hook that I custom ordered from SiennasBowtique on Etsy, but you can use any yarn with the respective size crochet hook.
