Ingredients
2 Cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons softened Butter
3/4 Cups Warm Water
Oil for Frying
Cinnamon Sugar
1 Cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1. Combine your dry ingredients in a bowl. Add in your butter and mix until crumbly.
2. Once crumbly slowly add in your warm water. Knead by hand in bowl for several minutes until a smooth dough forms. Form into ball and set in bowl. Cover with a towel and let sit for 30 minutes.
3. Mix your cinnamon and sugar together and set aside.
4. Heat oil on the stove and roll out sopapilla dough. Roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Cut into squares and fry until golden.
5. Place fried dough on a paper towel to drain off any excess oil. While still warm toss in cinnamon and sugar.
6. Serve with honey and powdered sugar.
