The seed stitch is a simple and very popular stitch that is reversible and has an attractive even texture. It's a perfect pattern for beginners because it's made up of only alternating knit and purl stitches.

In this video tutorial, I first demonstrate the pattern you would use to knit unsymmetrical seed stitch using an even number of stitches, and then I demonstrate the pattern that creates symmetrical seed stitch using an odd number of stitches.
