Did one of your Axum Bacterial Cultures fall through the ground in Subnautica 2 EA 1.2?
Unfortunately, these extremely limited endgame resources can sometimes clip below the terrain when you break open their containers, making them appear completely lost.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to get underneath the map in Subnautica 2 version 1.2 so you can travel below the world geometry, reach the Axum bacterial culture pools from underneath, and search for any missing samples that fell through the floor.
Axum Bacterial Cultures are found around the late-game Axum Metal Farm / bacterial culture pool area, and there are currently only a handful available in the game.
That makes losing one through the terrain especially painful.
Instead of simply abandoning it, we're going OUT OF BOUNDS.
I'll show you:
✅ Where to reach the under-map area
✅ How to safely get below the terrain
✅ How to navigate underneath the world
✅ How to travel toward the Axum culture pools
✅ How to recognize the pools from underneath
✅ Where missing bacterial cultures can fall
✅ How to search beneath each culture location
✅ How to recover a sample if you find one
✅ How to safely get back into the normal map
⚠️ SAVE YOUR GAME FIRST
This is an unintended out-of-bounds route through unfinished world geometry.
You can:
Get lost
Become stuck
Run out of oxygen
Lose track of your entrance
End up somewhere you absolutely were not supposed to be
So manually save before attempting the route.
I also recommend bringing enough equipment and power to safely make the trip and marking your entrance if necessary so you can find your way back.
The Axum Bacterial Cultures are especially important because they're used in late-game progression and are currently a finite resource, so recovering one that clipped beneath the terrain can save you from permanently losing part of your available supply.
