Take away special mushrooms is one of my favourites dish to cook. I always deep fry my mushrooms before stir frying them. Deep frying the mushrooms gives it a smooth and silky texture. The mushrooms seemed to taste better. I paired this dish with some onion and garlic for better taste and aroma. As with all my special dishes in the take away, I used chicken, char siu pork and king prawns.
Below is my recipe for you guys to try at home.
Ingredients:
5 slices of chicken breast
4 raw king prawns (26/30 size)
5 slices of char siu pork
30g onion
5 medium size mushrooms cut into quarters
3 clove garlic
Condiments:
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
Dash of cooking wine
80ml water
Quarter teaspoon salt
Quarter teaspoon MSG
Half teaspoon oyster sauce
Dash of white pepper powder
Dash of sesame oil
Some potato starch to thicken
Method
Deep fry the mushrooms in hot oil for 1 minute, drain and set aside.
Boil the chicken and king prawns for 2 minutes then add the char siu pork, leave it to boil for another minute before drain and set aside.
Heat wok and add some vegetable cooking oil, add the garlic and onion and stir fry for a minute before adding the rest of the ingredients.
Stir fry for a bit, and add the dark soy sauce and cooking wine.
Stir fry for some more and add some water; follow by salt, MSG, oyster sauce and white pepper powder.
Leave it to sizzle for a minute then thicken with some potato starch to complete.
Finish off with a dash of sesame oil.
