There are so many different ways you can change yarn colors when working a granny square - I will share one with you here.

🩷 After completing the round, slip stitch over into the next corner chain space with the same color previously used, then set it down.
🩷 Grab the new color. Form a loop near the end, leaving a tail end long enough you can comfortably weave in.
🩷 Pick up the square. Place your hook into the current loop. Place the loop of the new strand onto your hook and pull it through.
🩷 Pull on the tail of the original color so the loop disappears. Chain 2 with the new color and begin the round.
✨️ I just love this seamless technique! If the original strand pops up as you work, just tug on the tail, and it will disappear again. It'll be secured in place with the next color change or once it's fastened off and weaved in.
✨️ While this technique is one of my favorites because the color change is so even and seamless, you will still notice where the round begins because the chain 2 will be from the top of the stitch, versus covering the chain space as the remaining stitches will. Still a great technique as long as that visual works for you and your project.
