I may have worked up my entire rectangle for my super chunky ear warmer, but since I haven't found a seaming technique that I love with this particularly stitch pattern, I've decided to frog it and rework it with a few solid rows of single crochet at both ends to remove some bulkiness to work better with my favorite twisted join.
The nice thing is that in working with a super bulky yarn, the project works up quickly so yes, I'm taking the whole thing apart but it's only about 30-40 minutes to stitch it back up.
