I love making throw pillows, love it! I make all of my pillows envelope style so I can easily change them out, store them and wash them.
🤎 Start by crocheting a square panel for the front that is the size of your pillow form. For the back panels, each one will be made to the width of your pillow form, same as the front panel, but the heights of each will be half the width plus 3" for the overlap.
✨️ I like to add a border to my pieces so it's easier to assemble them. For C2C worked in half double crochet boxes, I like to do 1 single crochet into the space in between boxes and a chain 1 over each box.
🤎 Lay the bottom back panel down with the wrong side facing you. Place the front panel down with the right side facing you so the wrong side is against the back panel. Align them along the bottom edge. Attach your yarn along the bottom edge. Chain 1, then single crochet through both layers to secure them together.
✨️ For C2C worked in half double crochet boxes, I like to work 1 single crochet into the single crochet stitch, 1 single crochets into the chain space.
🤎 Increase in your corner most stitch so it'll lay flat then continue up the side in the same manner.
🤎 The top back panel will overlap the bottom back by 3" so as you approach the end of the bottom panel, work in the top back panel aligning it along the top edge and making sure the top back panel is added so the right side is facing out the same as the other panels. In that overlap section, you'll single crochet through 3 layers at once to secure together.
🤎 Once back to the beginning, slip stitch as normal, fasten off and weave in ends.
