Learn how to breathe while swimming in this episode of Swim Training by SwimSmooth featuring an Endless Pools Fastlane system.
If your swim stroke goes wrong, chances are it’s at the moment when you turn your head to breathe. Swim Coach Paul Newsome of SwimSmooth will show you proper breathing technique in this episode.
Timing your breathing is key to a successful swim stroke. Improving your breath timing can not only help you be an more effective swimmer, but make you a faster and better swimmer.
Coach Newsome recommends the Endless Pools swim current for training. The constant velocity of the Endless Pools current will change your position in the water with any inconsistencies in your stroke. This awareness will help you fine-tune your stroke for greater efficiency.
For contrast, Coach Newsome also demonstrates late breathing and how that affects the fluidity of your swim stroke.
Note: beginning around the 2:54 mark, the water distorts the size of the Fastlane unit in relation to the swimmer. The Fastlane unit measures just 34" tall, 18" deep, and 29" wide.
