Batch-production of videos is the key to having constant quality content for your social media feeds, while staying on a shoestring budget. Here’s how to achieve that as a Catholic organization.

You have to do all the heavy-lifting up front and keep it simple. Decide what topics need addressed, and break that out into a number of interview topics or written scripts. We’ve found the talking head format is very effective.

Then, film everything at one time. We’ve found that, if the person is comfortable with public speaking, you can film as many as 16 one-minute-long, scripted videos in one day.

You can also film longer interviews or scripts, like three to five minutes, and then cut out 15- to 60-second shorts to post regularly on social media. Then, you also post the full-length version on YouTube or your website for people who want to dive deeper.

Finally, make a repeating schedule. If you make 16 videos, that’s one every week for four months. So schedule your next filming date for four months from now.
