How to Apply PSA Wood Veneer | Easy Veneer Application Tips
In this video, I share a few helpful tips for applying PSA Wood Veneer (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive veneer). PSA veneer comes with a peel-and-stick backing, so proper surface preparation is key to getting a strong, long-lasting bond.
Before applying the veneer to birch plywood, I sealed the plywood with two coats of water-based polyurethane, lightly sanding between coats. This creates a smooth, sealed surface that helps the veneer adhesive bond much better to the substrate.
One of the biggest advantages of working with veneer is the design flexibility it offers. Unlike solid wood, veneer doesn’t require you to worry as much about wood movement, expansion, and contraction, which opens up a ton of creative possibilities for furniture, cabinetry, and custom projects.
