The Fighting Type failed harder than any other Type. At least in Gen 1.
Even setting the Psychic Type aside, Fighting just failed to do it's basic job. No other Type managed to fumble as badly as it did.
Over the years, Game Freak took numerous steps to gradually improve Fighting, from adding new Types, to creating several moves, to even adding 4 and a half Legendaries that one time back in Gen 5.
Not to mention making it more widely available to other Types as coverage moves. Including the infamous Focus Miss.
By today, it's finally managed to live up to its initial reputation as the ultimate physical attacking Type. But the road to get there was certainly a long and rocky one.
So let's follow the Zero to Hero story of the Fighting Type, and see how it went from historical jobber to modern day champion.
