Horseshoe Bend is a 1.5-mile round trip hike just outside Page, Arizona, about 4.5 hours from Phoenix or Las Vegas. The trail is short and easy but exposed, crossing open sand with no shade. Parking costs $10, paid to the City of Page, and federal passes don't apply. The viewpoint sits at the edge of a sheer drop with no railings, so stay back from the edge and watch kids closely. Go early or late to avoid midday heat and crowds. The payoff is a dramatic overlook of the Colorado River curving through sandstone cliffs, one of the most photographed spots in the Southwest.
