One of the advantages of growing your own vegetables, fruits, berries is that you can turn into a cow, goat, etc and just roam around and browse and forage your own stuff in order to pick the most perfect time to harvest them :) No pesticides are used, heck ... most years I don't even use fertilizer.

Homesteading has its advantages :)
