Prior to cancer, like anyone who reads the bible often, I had scripture I could recall from memory. Those scriptures meant something to me, or were my favorites, or maybe I would use them to teach or show others a different view, or maybe it was a life lesson. But when I was going through chemo and radiation in 2020, I suddenly lost the ability to just 'recall scripture from memory' ..... except this one verse. This one verse is basically how I tried to live my life. To not 'strive' with others but instead to patiently teach others, maybe through my own trials and errors .... just like I do today on this youtube channel with the way I live. So basically, my sister made me this sweatshirt because that verse obviously meant a lot to me then, as it does now .... but I also later lost the recall ability of it too (although I know the 'basic meaning', I can't just quote it without looking it up). So I wear it often, so I may never 'forget forget'.
2 Timothy 2:24 Context
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
