A cover of 'Hitchin' A Ride' by the band Green Day, from their album 'Nimrod'.
Green Day is one of the first bands that just got me into music in general, and although not my biggest influence in terms of song writing and guitar playing, they were one of my favourite bands for a long time and one of the bands that inspired me to pick up the guitar.
With all that said, it was inevitable I was going to get around to covering a Green Day song!
The guitar and bass parts for this song are incredibly easy, definitely worth learning for beginners out there! I decided to use this opportunity to focus on my drumming, vocals and production. My drumming is pretty poor still, but I think I'm getting there when covering these types of songs, but I definitely need to get those fills tighter! My vocals aren't too great as well; I think my tone is very different to Billie Joe Armstrong's which made it difficult, but at least it was comfortably in my vocal range!
