Stonewall Peak is a 4.5 mile out-and-back in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park with about 850 feet of elevation gain. The trail climbs to a granite dome summit with panoramic views of high peaks, Lake Cuyamaca, and desert. It's popular because it's doable for most hikers but still delivers a real summit experience. I also cover a loop option that adds lake views if you want more mileage. Expect crowds on weekends. No permit required, but there's a day-use fee at the trailhead.
