Sonic-likes are an official term now, not just of the 2D variety, but now of the 3D variety as well. And to think it all started with Freedom Planet back in like 2014. We came a long way since then.

So how's Ectorider? Put it simply, really REALLY FUN. I don't know how the developer managed to marry 3D Sonic high speed platforming, Klonoa's puzzle mechanics and even adding a bit of Tony Hawk Pro Skater into the mix (I maybe making things up for the SEO so YouTube can pick this up lol), but it somehow works and remarkably well might I add.

And best of all, the controls are buttery smooth, arguably just as smooth as Spark The Electric Jester 3 and Rolling Rascal, and the level design is built around the movement system, with the added bonus of having a toggleable low speed and high speed mode, it just works really well. I really don't have any cons to speak of, other than the lack of music in certain cutscenes and most of the music itself being a bit too chill for a high speed platformer (not that I mind, but some people might).

I urge anyone watching this video to give Ectorider a shot and support the developer.
