I’ve been trying to figure out the cleanest way to interact with a remote Hermes agent.
Remote desktop works, but it’s laggy, lower-res, and not ideal if you’re actually trying to use the agent every day. So I tested a better setup: running the remote Hermes instance as a gateway and connecting to it from my local machine / web dashboard.
The desktop app didn’t connect cleanly yet, but the dashboard worked — which means I can now chat with the remote agent and view its skills without needing to screen-share into the machine.
Small infrastructure win, and also a good reminder: the UX around agents matters just as much as the agent itself.
