I benchmarked Playwright MCP, Claude Skills, the Claude Chrome Extension, and CLI alternatives on my Wordle Bench to find out which is fastest, cheapest, and least bloated.
Skills use progressive loading (90 tokens vs 7,000), but MCPs have no cold start. There are real trade-offs either way — and Anthropic says both still matter.
