HBO commercial features two cable guys up on a pole repeatedly interrupting and connecting cable for an entire town a few miles away. Cheers and aaawws can be heard from the town as a whole as the man connects and disconnects the cable TV (presumably the cable carrying HBO).
The ending line is "It's not TV. It's HBO."
HBO's ads now seem to focus particularly on their original content and not just on their entertainment value as a whole.
This 30 second spot aired on FOX during a showing of the Simpsons on October 27th, 1997, the night of the premiere of Treehouse of Horror VIII (but during the showing of a different, older episode).
