A 1997 commercial for Batman and Robin out on home video shows Alfred (perhaps Michael Gough from the movie) handing a VHS copy of the movie on a platter to the young master of the house. He flips it into the VCR from a distance and the movie begins.
The commercial mentions as an aside at the end that you can also get it on DVD. DVD was very new when this aired, having only been out about 6 months in the US (the first DVD in the US, Twister, came out on March 26th, 1997).
It is strange now to see VHS prominent in a movie commercial. It has been so long that DVD has been the only format and DVD dominated VHS for a long period before that too.
This 15 second spot aired on FOX during a showing of the Simpsons on October 27th, 1997, the night of the premiere of Treehouse of Horror VIII (but during the showing of a different, older episode).
