Pepsi One commercial mixing Scorsese-style mafia with Cuba Gooding, Jr. clowning. The mobsters show up and Cuba convinces them to try a Pepsi One over their reservations. Meanwhile, Cuba accidentally triggers a car bomb.
Pepsi One was Pepsi's attempt at an alternate diet formulation in the US. This commercial implies it's geared towards men instead of women. It was not successful although it did have a distinctively different flavor due to using different sweeteners than Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke.
Coke would later attack the same market with Coke Zero and hit it big with the male market. Pepsi would adapt their Pepsi Max product to be more like Coke Zero (including the black bottle color).
The background music is "Bad Boys" by Inner Circle (as heard on Cops).
This spot aired during the episode "Screaming Yellow Honkers" of The Simpsons on FOX on Sunday, February 21st, 1999.
