A little tribute to Hayley Mills (born April 18, 1946), using the song, "Sweet River' which she recorded in 1962. It was intended to be featured in the Disney film "In Search Of The Castaways" (1962) but it was cut from the film (the other song sung by Hayley, "Castaway" remains in the movie). Featuring films from her teenage years when her characters began to experience romance. Hayley was a big part of my childhood and adolescence and enjoy her films just as much now as I did then. One of my favorite classic novels has been adapted several times (the first two silent film versions are sadly lost), and the most well-known is featured in this video. All three versions (1979, 1998, and 2008) are very good in their own way, and the three actresses who played the lead role each brought something special and unique. This is another re-do of an older video, with My Skin by Natalie Merchant as the background music. The tragic story of a young girl in the 19th century who was a victim of fate as well as the people and society around her (two men, in particular), is timeless and extremely moving. Enjoy!
