Another video re-do, this time of a tribute I made to the film noir teaming of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake several years back. Before Bogie and Bacall became a celebrated noir twosome, there was Ladd and Lake. In addition to three film noir movies, they also appeared in Canteen-style films at their home studio, Paramount, and the action-adventure, "Saigon" (1948), but it is their ventures into the world of film noir that is best remembered. They had chemistry right from the word go. Music is the theme from their first film together, "This Gun For Hire" (1942), performed by Jazz At The Movies Band. Enjoy!
