Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.🍀 Would like to welcome you each to come outside with me on this beautiful humid day. Well plans changed thanks to a tropical storm and have to harvest from the true patchouli plants a day early.
So thankful to be able to grow these amazing smelling plants. If you have never smelled real patchouli you are in for a aromatic delight. Not only a very earthy scent but a very important medicinal herb to have in stock. Thankful for this first harvest of many more to come. If you have smelled nasty patchouli it is synthetic and you have to find true patchouli essential oil or the plants to experience the difference.

As mentioned in the video soon I will be turning this dehydrated stock in to a very important healing infused oil and a salve. It is very well known as a astringent and helps to cause wounds to heal faster treating skin conditions such as dermatitis, acne, or dry, cracked skin and psoriasis as well. Patchouli contains A-Guinane, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that reduces inflammation of the joints and muscles to provide relief from aches and pains.
