Hello there! Well Christmas is very much upon us, so this'll be our final upload of the year and we've saved the final spot for this absolute classic of a Christmas song: 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' by the immortal John Lennon.
We've been wanting to add this to our Christmas covers since the very beginning, but there always seemed to be something more colourful or unexpected to go for instead... the truth is though, that this is possibly one of the most iconic Xmas songs of all time. From the opening bar containing nothing but John's vocal, to the huge finish featuring the Harlem Youth Choir, as well as John And Yoko, it's a masterpiece of writing and arrangement.
You'll find another appearance of our cute little Gretsch Jim Dandy in Nashville tuning, adding a gorgeous sparkle to the sound that's similar, and yet somehow different to the sound you get from capoing a second, standard tuned guitar. We think it sounds awesome and we hope you do too :)
Tomorrow's Christmas Eve, y'all! Is everybody set? Don't forget to leave out some vegan mince pies for Santa and a gluten free, organic fair trade sugar lump for Rudolph. And spare a thought for Mrs Clause, who makes all this stuff happen by keeping on top of the admin while Santa is out kissing people's Mommies...
