Howdy folks, thanks for tuning in!
We're delighted to share with you our acoustic cover of Roll The Woodpile Down: a song that has existed in many forms for a couple of hundred years or so, but our favourite version of which was recorded by Bellowhead in 2012.
Bellowhead are an incredible 11-piece group with a huge sound, and their version of this song is both powerful and wistful.
It took us flipping agers to figure out how to arrange this for just a single guitar and uke, and those of you who know the aformentioned version will now exactly how badly we're missing the enormous brass lines and percussion, but we hope it survives the translation enough to carry even 10% of the original's energy and aggression.
There's a good chance that some of the lyrics and themes in this song would rightly be considered problematic by today's standards, but luckily we're still far enough under the radar to not risk offending too many people, and those that do follow our work are generally filthy animals anyway 🤣
This is the final upload from our album ''If The Mood Carries' (2022), and starting next week, we'll be uploading each and every track from our latest album 'Focus' (2023).
