Howdy folks,

Here's our looper cover of Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People. It's a song that we've been in love with for a few years now and we've never quite trusted anyone who doesn't like it.

We're using our usual rig consisting of RC300, Handsonic, JDXI, GR55 and Voicelive3, and we're using each piece of gear to the full in this one, since there's so much going on in the original. We struggled for ages to find a sound in the HPD20 that resembled that weird vocal sample that's being triggered during the intro. In the end we just recorded our own, processed it in Reaper, imported it to the handsonic and assigned it to a pad. I don't know why we haven't done this more often...maybe it feels like cheating.

A smart duo would just import a whole backing track and mime their way through every gig. Imagine the money you'd save on rechargeable batteries!
