GTA 6 at 30 FPS vs 60 FPS — can you actually see the difference?
In this video, we compare GTA 6 running at 30 FPS and 60 FPS side-by-side to show exactly how much smoother the game looks and feels at a higher frame rate.
Pay close attention to camera movement, driving, character movement, animations and fast-paced scenes to see just how different 30 FPS and 60 FPS can look.
For anyone intersted. Yes, GTA 6 currently only runs at 30 FPS. For the 60 FPS version I have frame interpolated the 30 FPS version using AI motion estimation. So while this is generating "fake" frames to create the extra 30 FPS, it is the same temporaly as a native 60 FPS playback, as each of the frames are uniquely different and each frame represrents a different moment in time.
If you pause the video and use the angled bracket keys on your keyboard, these are on the comma and fullstop keys ( , + . ) This will frame advance through the video when it's paused and you will see that the 60 FPS version has movement on each frame and the 30 FPS version only updates its movement every two frames.
