So in this video I am testing the ACASIS TB501 Pro Thunderbolt 5 compatible 80Gb/s NVMe enclosure with the original ACASIS TB501 Thunderbolt 5 compatible 80Gb/s NVMe enclosure. To see if there is any difference between them as far as their data rates and read and write speeds are concerned when testing them with the Balckmagic Disk Speed application.
For the testing, I used the 4TB WD SN850X NVMe Gen 4 M.2 SSD in both of the enclosure and I used the M4 Max MacBook Pro to host the external Thunderbolt 5 SSD storage drives and for running the speed test.
As you can see with the results, there is no difference in the speed performance between the two enclosures. So, if you bought the ACASIS TB501 and were wondering if there was any advantage with the ACASIS TB501 Pro when running under Thunderbolt 5. There isn't and you are all good with your ACASIS TB501 and there is no need to upgrade to the ACASIS TB501 Pro.
