The M4 iPad Pro does not have a headphone jack socket. However, no worries, a simple adapter cable by Apple, sometimes called a dongle, will do the job.
So what we need to use is the Apple USB-C Headphone Jack Adapter cable. As well as supplying a stereo audio output for your wired headphones, on a 3.5mm TRS jack. It is also compatible as a microphone input for any headphones or headset that have a built in mic that use a 3.5mm TRRS jack plug. The adapter will also work with dedicated microphones that use the 3.5mm TRRS standard as well.
