Shaggy Coos Farm & Creamery is one of the smallest dairies in Connecticut. But a statewide effort to help the 79 remaining milking operations at a time when production costs were exceeding sales revenue is making life a little easier for Brittany Conover and her husband on their 40 acres here on Center Road.
The $22.5 million that Gov. Ned Lamont freed-up for dairy farmers in mid-May will give them an additional $5.50 per 100 pounds — 11.6 gallons — of milk.
