I kept screwing up little things that kept stumping me (mostly revolved around me accidentally reusing variables or skipping things that needed to be fixed so after a re-tweak I fixed it up to where now the snake will stop on an egg and after a bit eat it unless you touch him. So still working out the way they behave together but I feel I am getting a bit of that old single screen arcade feel a bit. I like the fox but he is a bit too big to use with the snake so I think what I may do is swap the snake out when there are few eggs on the screen and he will chase you as the snake is a bit less effective with less eggs present.
I will also have to make the eaten eggs negatively affect you, like if half the eggs get eaten you lose a life.
