- me having a go at drumming with Phil and Chester on this classic Genesis medley. Had to split it somewhere, so went for the drum duet. Los Endos is on Part 2.
This version of Volcano is in my view easier to play then the studio version (see my cover), though it is still awkward! I have always felt this version is too fast, but it remains an epic track. I am aware of the dodgy fill at 1'28 and it is a shame I forgot to play the snare quietly at 2'20 -- it should be building up! Hope you notice the left handed fill with right hand on china: someone has picked me up for not doing this sort of thing on In The Cage!!
The Drum Duet -- to be honest, I could hardly hear it through my headphones, despite them being stuffed and taped halfway up my inner ear. This made finding the transition to the final rhythm (around 4'48) nigh on impossible, hence the 'going quiet' as I try and lock in with Phil and Chester, who at least had the advantage of eye contact! Then in my rush to exit the duet, I hit the crash too early at 5'04. Doh!
