This is my band, Cornerstone, playing our version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama'.
I tell you what, I found it really tough to cover - copying yourself is actually really difficult!!! I don't mean this in a 'aren't I a great drummer' kind of way - I mean that for some reason it was really hard to play the exact same part as I played in the recording studio, when in fact I usually play it differently each time. I am of course referring in particular to those little fills just after the cymbal chokes, and then the hectic instrumental section later on. Goddam - but I had to write the part out in order to play it all in the correct order!!!! It's my own fucking drum part, and I had to write it out! Doh!
I don't know how you will all react to this. I am sorry the background track is not a bit louder - Dave sings this brilliantly, and Ivor's backing vocals really bring it all to life. Anyway, you get the gist. I hope we do not upset too many Lynyrd Skynyrd fans. Certainly, this goes down really well whenever we play it at gigs. It's great fun, and a wonderful track!
