This is a guide I made about trading Generation I glitch Pokémon to Generation II. In the past I made this short one, but it wasn't as in-depth. youtube.com/watch?v=-NZ136gb5aI

I annotate this video by writing notes in the debugger.

https://glitchcity.wiki/Time_Capsule_exploit (under Conversions section) - here is the Time Capsule exploit table; you read the ID under Generation I, then see which Generation II Pokémon it becomes.

https://glitchcity.wiki/TypeDex - The TypeDex tells you the index numbers of all the Generation I regular types. In order for this to work, you must change the internal type, which is not shown on the Generation I summary but can be checked by the effectiveness of a move against your Pokémon and sometimes the message (e.g. if you change to Grass/Grass, Fire will become Super-effective and show the message). For the Dark and Steel types, this is not an option unfortunately since they do not exist in Generation I.

If your code modifies the type based on a quantity, you'll want the decimal ID of that type. As an addendum, Steel is 09 and Dark is 1B. If you want a pure type Pokémon you'll have to act as if you're writing it e.g. Fire/Fire (for Fire) or Dark/Dark (for Dark) for pure type Pokémon.

No Generation II Pokémon are ???-type (even of known glitch Pokémon), (??? was for the move Curse only), however according to github.com/pret/pokegold/blob/master/constants/type_constants.asm it's somewhere before the Special moves but after the Physical moves.

bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9dex_flags - Glitch Pokémon and their flags if they have a Pokédex number over 151 or 000, be careful as they may alter the relevant item or quantity (you can avoid this by directly modifying your party Pokémon as is done in the video with the former Victreebel).

https://glitchcity.wiki/International_fossil_conversion_glitch - This talks about how to do it without arbitrary code execution, but it's efficient to just do it with arbitrary code execution too by writing to D710 after depositing any fossil and returning.

Others RNG DV methods:

Any Game Corner prize hunting;

The classic Trainer escape glitch ('Mew glitch') does give random DV Pokémon, and I think Shinies are possible.

Old man glitch if you have the German version (note I don't have codes for that but RAM addresses are +5 so codes could be tweaked) for a few glitch Pokémon, or want to use box breaker glitch to change your name https://glitchcity.wiki/Old_man_glitch

youtube.com/watch?v=7Mg86azYljU - box breaker glitch

https://glitchcity.wiki/Rival_LOL_glitch - Rival LOL glitch ; some may be intimidated by it but once you learn it it's efficient to use

https://glitchcity.wiki/Experience_division_by_0_glitch - The issue with two glitch Pokémon in Yellow, and why you have to change D163 and D16A directly.

TheZZAZZGlitch's thread (valuable)

archives.glitchcity.info/forums/board-115/thread-6638/page-0.html

Reading beyond the first page is more information. TheZZAZZGlitch notes some newer bootstraps on an edit, but the links no longer work but are somewhere in that thread not on page 1. To use arbitrary code execution you need a bootstrap (often a certain party, stored Pokémon, Day Care, etc.)
