It was an incredible experience to hunt with friends IRL, I've always wanted to meet up with friends to hunt, and nearly did a couple years ago before the world took a pause. I'm glad we were finally able to meet up and get these 10 shines live! And not only that, but I met many more awesome people that I didn't expect to, like AbsolBlogsPokemon, Gonjona, and Broseidon! I set out to get Mewtwo, Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan, but I am absolutely stoked to get Jellicent as a bonus! Sorry that I didn't really explain my encounter rates or setups here, I didn't keep count and with this IRL vlog style the setup explanations didn't really fit in.for a brief summary of the setups:Mewtwo - after gaining 16 badges in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, you can access Cerulean Cave in Kanto and you find mewtwo at the end.Hitmonchan & Hitmonlee - in Fire Red and Leaf Green, you get a gift of either one of these for beating the fighting dojo, adjacent to Sabrina's gym, in Saffron City. You only get 1 per save.Jellicent - in Black 2 and White 2, in Undella Bay, one of these will show up weekly. In B2, it is Male Jellicent on Mondays. In W2 it is Female Jellicent on Thursdays. If you save in front of it, it will remain in the overworld even outside of these days, so long as you do not leave the area. I started hunting the starter on July 27, 2013 and have now finished this final hunt on February 10, 2021. This Pichu took 17,001 eggs & ~567 hours and is my longest hunt in terms of hours to date. Absolutely worth it. For those interested, this Pichu cannot migrate, but I don’t migrate my shinies anyways so personally I’m not affected.A lot of you already have a problem with this hunt before even seeing it. At the end of the day, I did this hunt for fun for myself, it doesn't affect anyone else so if you have a problem with it then you should re-evaluate what's important. Live Shiny Chespin! Only 72!! [X BQ#1] ShinyCollector 2020-09-19 | [8-9-20]Some information I wanted to include for this video: I’d like to dispel some misinformation. I’ve heard people say these starters are the worst starters and that they take 10 minutes per reset. But they’re actually a minute and a half per reset if you check the summary instead of throwing it out into battle to check (if you do the latter it’s 2 minutes). This means that diamond and pearl starters are the same pace and gen 7 starters are slower regardless of which version you choose. And if you account for odds differences, Diamond, Pearl, platinum, black, white, black 2 and white 2 starters are all slower. So yeah these starters aren’t THAT daunting, give it a try! I'm stoked to start this badge quest!
