Evie (ChickasaurusGL) 🌺 | Different handling for additional Unown letters in the Pokémon Kristall (DE)/Cristallo (IT) intro @ChickasaurusGL | Uploaded January 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
(See description) I inferred this from something on the REON Discord. It's another non-glitch curiosity I felt was interesting:
The non-English European versions of Pokémon Crystal (with different ROMs) are Cristal (FR), Kristall (DE), Cristallo (IT), Cristal (ES). During the end of the intro, the game will write its name in Unown symbols.
Cristal (FR/ES) like Crystal is seven characters long, so the localisers don't have to add additional Unown symbols. Kristall (DE) and Cristallo (IT) however are eight and nine characters long. Kristall reserves time to print the letters in equal(?) intervals. However, Cristallo prints both "l" at the same time, while printing the other characters of Cristallo in equal(?) intervals.
