An issue of changing item 33 quantity and item 34 is that it would be half applied only when the menu is open. At times you may want it to be fully applied, and while there are other ways involving glitch items to do it, there is a simple way to just apply your pointer to blocks from i33 and i34 (D35F-60 or D35E-D35F) within the battle, and then end the battle.
(I did my Pokégirl and walking Clefairy arbitrary code execution program, as feeling particularly feminine today. ^^)
