The Galway Wool Co-op takes centre stage in this video. Its innovative virtual co-operative, supported by funding from the European Commission’s LEADER programme, is the first of its kind in Ireland. Galway Wool Co-op aims to restore the cultural and economic value of native Irish wool, support local farmers by ensuring fair prices for their wool, and to promote it as a sustainable biofibre. The co-op was a finalist in the 2024 edition of the Agricultural and Rural Inspiration Awards (ARIA) – a landmark event of the EU CAP Network – where it was highly commended by the jury.
This video is part of the European Broadband Competence Offices Network’s programme promoting awareness of good practices in broadband projects as well as EU broadband funding and policy. Find out more:
