A tribute to one of my favorite couples of classic literature, Gabriel Oak and Bathsheba Everdene from Thomas Hardy's 1874 novel, "Far From The Madding Crowd". I used all three of the filmed adaptations - The 1967 film starring Julie Christie and Alan Bates, the 1998 Masterpiece Theater miniseries starring Paloma Baeza and Nathaniel Parker, and the 2015 film starring Carey Mulligan and Matthias Schoenaerts - in the video. The song is "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons. I think all three versions are very good, the 1967 movie being my personal favorite, the 1998 miniseries was the closest to the book and the 2015 film put more emphasis on Gabriel and Bathsheba's relationship, although the film was too short to give a fuller depiction of the story.
