I'm really starting to like this camera!
I've spent four weeks with the Fuji GW690 iii now, and any reservations I had with it before are definitely long gone! There's so much to love about this camera.
In this video I head into downtown Anchorage, Alaska, on the hunt for some grubbier scenes, some more edgy photos in a more industrial setting. I've never really been one for pretty landscapes, they just don't quite get my juices flowing like they do for some people!
As with all photography, you get from landscapes what you put into them. If you want to create spectacular landscape photography, then you need to select the perfect location, the perfect time, the perfect weather etc., and probably revisit the same location many many times before you get a truly stunning image. I have total respect for people that do that, but it wasn't what was on my agenda while I was away.
So I found a grittier more industrial part of Anchorage, took a roll of black and white (Delta) and a roll of colour (Ektar) and got shooting. It was end of March and Alaska was melting! Which means that all the pristine white snow and ice disappears, leaving slow melting piles of grit-filled grubby snow... some may think this is ugly, I for sure don't!
I'm now back in the UK, although there is another video still to come from Alaska. And sadly I have had to sell the Fuji! I'm gutted about it, but I needed the money and when the bills roll in it's hard to justify having a vast collection of expensive cameras...
