Once again, I've been left amazed at the quality of a superbly simple camera... will I never learn??
The GB Kershaw 110 was launched in 1954 as an affordable camera for the amateur photography enthusiast. It has a simple fixed focus meniscus lens, a one speed shutter, two aperture options of f11 (hence the name) and f16, effected by a circular mask that flips in or out on the touch of a button, and somehow it takes great pictures!
The meniscus lens drops off a little at the edges as you would expect, but the pictures this little camera creates are good quality and oozing with character. They have an unmistakeable vintage feel to them.
Highly recommend this camera to anyone thinking of trying out medium format and 120 film, you really can't go too far wrong with it. There are plenty out there on the used market, they're cheap as chips (I picked up my two for £5 each on eBay), and they seem mostly to have weathered the 70 years since they were made remarkably well.
For the regular viewers of the channel - apologies this one has taken so long! I've been guilty, again, of having poor expectations from this little camera, so I haven't been all that keen to take it out. But once again I've been caught out and made to look a fool by a 70 year old super simple camera. Shame on me.
