How to reset the service due indicator on a Freelander 1 2.5 V6 petrol. This is how I reset my 12000 mile or 1 year service due indicator on the LCD display. I think this may only apply to the V6 model as I haven’t noticed this on other Freelander’s I have had and it certainly doesn’t apply to my 1.8. Couldn’t find this in my LR workshop manual or Haynes manual or searching the internet, so tried a similar method that works on other Land Rovers around that age, probably with the same Siemens ECU.
Please excuse the slightly drawn out start but it is useful to show what didn’t work, what then did and then what seems to work after the reset but which didn’t work at the start! You will see what I mean. (It is either both buttons pressed together or just the right button held in when turning on the ignition).
Something like this would probably work on a Range Rover, Discovery, Range Rover Sport of that era.
