If your MINI key remote fob has gone through the washing and stopped working due to water damage? Then here is a video on how to fix it and bring it back to life!
It also shows how to change a flat aged rechargeable internal battery.

You should be able to fix other car remotes with the same method.
If you do want to change the battery (a rechargeable one soldered to the board, type Panasonic Button cell battery VL-2020-HFN is the prefered one as it has connections on opposite sides, see all buying options on Amazon. If you can only get other types just bend and extend the pins to fit it) you can get it from Amazon or eBay here:
