Many children today have little opportunity to experience soil, growing food, and learning from the land. In this free webinar, I’ll be hosting a panel discussion about how we can reconnect young people with gardening, farms and growing spaces.

We’ll explore practical ways farmers, landowners and communities can open up land for children to learn, grow food, and build a lifelong relationship with nature. The discussion includes ideas, experiences and inspiration from people already doing this work.

As I explain in the video, there’s a growing divide between people with access to land and many who have none — and this conversation is about bridging that gap and helping more young people get their hands in the soil.

A free webinar on 27th March at 10 am. I shall be hosting a panel who work to bring gardening knowledge and experience to children. They are Lara Honnor of @skoolbeanz, Olivia Shave, and Eddie Rixon, a farmer who adopted the slogan "Get on my Land".

Filmed by Nicola Smith in Charles' no dig garden, 5th March 2026.
