In this video, I bring to you our third road trip on Forza Horizon, this time we decided to go on a cruise in a few of the most iconic movie cars of all time!
Instead of just making another car manufacturer based road trip video, I believed it would be a cool idea to get some of the most iconic movie cars together for one big road trip across Colorado from the Media Centre, to the small and beautiful town located in Beaumont! The trip lasts around 9 minutes, so be prepared for a journey across dirt and tarmac containing cars you'd be unlikely to see together in real life... which is the beauty of Hoirzon!
So, the most important thing were the cars for this video, and I believed it would be best to pick cars that if anybody looked at them could say "That's from that movie" or "That's in this movie", not cars that had a small role in an unpopular film. So, here are the cars we decided on that were most iconic and most of all available to use in Horizon:
- Aston Martin DB5: The car every bond fan loves and wants, probably one of the most recocnizable movie cars to date set in the classic film "Goldfinger"
- 1969 Dodge Charger: The good ol' boys General Lee set in "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV show and film, probably the most iconic movie car of all time, amongst a few others
- Classic Mini Coopers: One of my favourite movies and three of my favourite cars, these classic minis were used in "The Italian Job" (1969). Personally, I was dead against using modern minis as the latest Italian Job was dreadful in contrast with the first, so these classic minis represent how awesome the original film was!
- Pontiac Trans Am: The powerful muscle car used in "Smokey and the Bandit", not as Iconic as the others, but still a great and worthy movie car!
- VW Beetle: Probably one of my most hated movies, but for the car and the paint job, "Herbie" is known by everyone as a fun and quirky race car!
So, they're the cars we used for the trip, and it was pretty awesome seeing them all in the same place at the same time! Now, before I get comments like "You should've used this car", please remember Horizon doesn't have every car in the world, so cars we would of liked to use like the DeLorean (Back to the future), Cadillac Miller-Meteor (Ghostbusters), Ford Torino (Starsky and Hutch), etc... aren't actually available in the game. So we used the cars we believed were very iconic, as well as awesome movie cars, and that were actually available.
As well as this, we decided not to use Fast and Furious cars, as there were simply too many to call "Iconic" in the films, one of which being the most iconic was already being used (The 1969 Dodge Charger). But I did link this video to Fast and Furious in another way, as it's a great movie film franchise... so keep reading to find out! Or just listen to the video...
The music used in the main trip starts with "Back in Black" by AC/DC, a pretty epic track to drive along to with these epic movie cars! Then we move on to an awesome tune named "My life be like" by the Gritz, now this was an important song to get in to the video for me as it was from one of the most devoted car based movie franchises of all time, that is "Fast and Furious", this particular song many will know from "Tokyo Drift", so hopefully you'll enjoy that song also! And we end with "Underdog" by Kasbien, a great tune many will recognise as well.
I decided not to use movie soundtracks for the entire video as some of them are quite short, and some of the cars we used don't have soundtracks!
Finally, I would like to apologise for the lack of videos lately, this is due to various important things causing everything to be very busy in the last few, and forthcoming months. So hopefully I'll be creating more videos in around a months time but for now, I cannot be producing as many as I normally do for certain reasons. That's why it was important for me to get this video out as soon as possible, whilst trying not to rush it with the time I had.
So I hope you enjoy the video! Feel free to like, comment and subscribe! This was filmed with an HD PVR so 720p HD is recommended for best quality!
