In this video, I show you the main highlights from one of the early missions in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. This game has a variety of feedback from reviews, but is it actually that bad?
Personally, I don't think it's a bad game, it just doesn't live up to other FPS's in terms of functionality and appearance. The graphics look great for the environment, but the characters look like they're from the old generation of consoles. And the sniping is great, but that's all it is... Sniping. No other weapons, which some people will find annoying.
But that's the point, this is a Sniping game, so all that should matter and does matter to me, is the Sniping! And it's actually pretty good! I play on the Expert difficulty as I do prefer realistic sniping as it offers more of a challenge.
As you will see in the video, various mechanics are included in the game, Sniping and Stealth being the main focus, which is great. The game does contain many bugs and glitches, but thankfully not many to do with the Sniping. As you can see in the video, the sniping is actually pretty good, however when compared to other sniper games, it isn't the best.
Thankfully I'm only renting this title, as I knew it wouldn't compare to Sniper Elite v2. Sniper Elite is probably the best sniper game out there, and is much longer, and much better than Sniper GW2. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just the campaign is hardly worth paying attention to and isn't very long at all, and the sniping is pretty fun, but no where near as cool as Sniper Elites killcams!
So overall, I believe this game is worth playing if you're into sniping, and sniping alone. COD players will most likely hate this game as all they want to do is run in and shoot everything, which is why this game is aimed at those who are more precise with their actions and want to think about what they're doing. Stealth is key. The graphics aren't the best and the story is, let's be honest, pretty crap, but most importantly the Sniping is pretty fun, which is all that matters.
