You can be a follower of Christ and not be a Christian.
That statement may sound shocking, but Jesus never asked people to become Christians. He invited them to become disciples.
He said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
The hallmark of a disciple isn’t a religious label—it’s love.
Jesus’ teaching wasn’t centered on building a religion. He revealed a way of being rooted in love and mystical union with God.
He taught us to love God with all our heart, love our neighbor as ourselves, and then took it even further: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
From the perspective of the separate ego, this is impossible.
But everything changes when mystical union is realized.
When you awaken to your Oneness with God—the Christ within—and recognize that same divine life flowing through all beings, love is no longer something you force. It becomes the most natural expression of who you are.
Jesus said that when we abide in Him, we bear much fruit.
The first fruit is love.
Not manufactured love.
Not religious obligation.
Not moral performance.
Just love—effortlessly growing from the branches of a life rooted in the Divine.
Perhaps following Christ has always been less about adopting a religion and more about awakening to the Reality He came to reveal.
